Class Summary
Under direction from academic and administrative staff, performs skilled technical duties in the operation and maintenance of science laboratories; performs related duties as required.
Representative Duties
The Biology Department at Santa Ana College is seeking a new laboratory technician on our technical support team, with concentration on physiology and microbiology. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in biological science, life science, or pharmacological science, plus adequate experience in standard techniques used in biological laboratories. Preferred candidates should be familiar with principles and practices of good health and safety management, hazardous materials storage and handling, and hazardous/ biohazardous waste management and disposal...

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in biological or a physical science or equivalent, and two years of experience in a biological or a physical science laboratory.

Candidate must demonstrate clear evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, staff, and the community.
