What’s the job? 

Dive into the dynamic world of cybersecurity as our new Information Security Analyst! You’ll be at the forefront of safeguarding our institute, shaping security policies, and managing incidents with precision. Your hands-on expertise will optimise security systems, detect emerging threats, and bolster our defences. Day-to-day accountabilities: 

As an Information Security Analyst, you’ll develop and enforce security policies, conduct security assessments, manage incident responses, and pinpoint areas for optimisation in our security systems. You'll conduct threat detection, analyse breaches, and deliver training to boost cybersecurity awareness across the university. Your role ensures robust protection and compliance with industry standards. 

Accountabilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Develop and review security policies for compliance and effectiveness. 
  • Coordinate and manage incident responses to reduce security issues. 
  • Initiate security processes and conduct assessments. 
  • Oversee daily operation, maintenance and administration of security tools. 
  • Conduct proactive threat detection and analysis. 
  • Proactive response to vulnerability detection and rapid mitigation 
  • Create and deliver comprehensive security training programs. 
  • Coordinate activities within the security program. 
  • Contribute to the ongoing maturity of our security practice and implementation of security roadmap 
  • Provide regular reporting. 

This is a full-time permanent position with flexibility to work from home or at a campus near you. 

Who you are 

You’re a skilled cybersecurity expert with a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience. You have a strong grasp of cybersecurity practices and risk management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team. Certifications like CISSP or CISM are a bonus, and experience in higher education is a plus. 

  • Minimum of 5+ years of cybersecurity experience. 
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and risk management. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Team collaboration and analytical expertise. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
