Offer Description
Applications are open for 1 (one) Scientific Initiation Studentship, within the framework of the project 1801P.01668 MAGIK: Mixed-Age Group decIsion-MaKing: integrating adolescents and adults into collaborative decision processes (2024.17228.PEX), financed by national funds through FCT/MCTES (PIDDAC).
Workplan: The work plan focuses on the psychophysiological data component of the MAGIK project. The fellow will begin by analysing the signals already collected in the pilot study — assessing the quality of the recordings, consolidating the pre-processing procedures and extracting the relevant indicators — and will ensure, in the subsequent phases of the project, the preparation and monitoring of data collection in experimental group decision-making sessions, including equipment set-up, the synchronisation of the signals with the session records, and the processing of the resulting data. The work also includes relating these indicators to the remaining measures of the study, documenting the procedures adopted, and collaborating in the preparation of reports and scientific publications arising from the project.
Duration: The research fellowship(s) will have the duration of 6 months. It’s expected to begin in November 2026, and may be eventually renewed until the end of the project.

Monthly maintenance allowance: According to the values for Research Fellowships awarded by FCT in Portugal (https://www.fct.pt/fct-atualizou-o-valor-das-bolsas-para-2026), the amount of the monthly maintenance allowance is € 1,090.98, being the payment method an option of the Fellow by Wire Transfer/Check

Selection process
The selection methods will be the following: 1) Curriculum evaluation, considering the academic background and the relevant experience of the applicant, namely in the acquisition and processing of psychophysiological signals with wearable devices, in statistical data analysis and in decision support methods, namely in participatory and group decision processes, which may be complemented by an individual interview, should the jury consider it necessary; and 2) motivation letter, with the respective weight of 90% and 10%.

Announcement/ notification of the results: The final evaluation results will be communicated to all applicants by email.
