To join the research team of the project entitled „Establishing the Romanian Center of Excellence in Clinical Neuroscience (NeuRoX)” where he/ she will actively participate in the organization and implementation of the clinical study, providing support in drafting the procedures and documents necessary for conducting research activities.

Skills/Qualifications
Higher education in the fields of Medical Sciences/ Pharmacy; PhD in Pharmacy or in a biomedical field relevant to the project activities; having a professional specialization in the field of pharmaceutical laboratory is an advantage.
Experience in scientific research activities in the pharmaceutical, biomedical and/ or toxicological field; experience in research projects, experimental activities and interpretation of scientific results; experience in toxicological research; knowledge of analytical methods used in biomedical and pharmaceutical research, including chromatographic and spectrometric techniques, UHPLC-MS/MS, ICP-MS.
Specific Requirements
- Competencies in mass spectrometry, with emphasis on the principles, applications and use of the ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometry) technique in biomedical, pharmaceutical and toxicological research.
- Knowledge of the preparation, processing and analysis of biological samples and other complex matrices for the determination of elements and contaminants by ICP-MS.
- Competencies in the determination and quantification of trace and ultra-trace elements, including metals and metalloids of toxicological and biomedical relevance, using mass spectrometry techniques.
- Knowledge of the specific steps of ICP-MS analysis: sample preparation, mineralization/digestion, preparation of standards and calibration solutions, selection of analysis conditions and interpretation of results.
- Ability to operate and use mass spectrometry equipment, including performing routine checks of instrumental performance and identifying factors that may influence the quality of the analysis.
- Knowledge of the calibration of analytical methods, the use of internal and external standards, calibration curves, reference materials and quality control samples.
- Ability to identify and evaluate spectral and non-spectral interferences specific to the ICP-MS technique and to apply appropriate measures to reduce or correct them.
- Skills in the development, optimization and application of analytical methods for the determination of elements in biological, pharmaceutical and/or environmental samples.
- Knowledge of the principles of validation of analytical methods, including the assessment of linearity, precision, accuracy, selectivity, detection limit, quantification limit and method robustness.
- Ability to apply procedures for the assurance and quality control of analytical results, in order to obtain reproducible, traceable and comparable results.
- Skills in biomonitoring of exposure to contaminants, in particular the assessment of exposure to metals and other elements through the analysis of biological samples.
- Ability to interpret toxicological and biomedical analytical results by correlating the concentrations determined with clinical, biological and/or experimental data relevant to the project objectives.
- Knowledge of the toxicology of metals and environmental contaminants, mechanisms of toxicity, exposure assessment and the use of exposure and effect biomarkers.
- Ability to analyze and interpret results obtained by ICP-MS in the context of biomarker identification and validation.
- General knowledge of complementary chromatography and mass spectrometry techniques, including LC-MS/MS/UHPLC-MS/MS, and the ability to integrate results from different analytical methods.
- Ability to develop and comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) for sample preparation, equipment use, analysis and results documentation.
- Ability to statistically process, critically analyze and interpret experimental data, as well as use the IT tools necessary to manage analytical results.
- Scientific documentation skills and drafting of experimental protocols, analysis reports, research reports and materials necessary for the dissemination of results.
