Second Class Engineer A/C and Boilers
Job Summary
Operate and maintain stationary engines and mechanical equipment such as air compressors, generators, motors, turbines, steam boilers, hot water and chill water pumps, and vacuum pumps
Minimum Qualifications
Current 2nd Class City of New Orleans, Operating Engineers License for steam boilers and air conditioning required and at least 5 years experience in the engineering field.
Preferred Qualifications
Manual skills, thorough and comprehensive knowledge of processes involved in maintaining equipment and pertinent functions of Central Plant, which may be acquired through previous formal training and on-the-job training and experience. Verbal skills to read and understand technical manuals, motor coordination and manual finger dexterity for adjusting valves, using hand tools, lifting, climbing and stooping. Written skills and reasoning ability, ability to work with others in a tactful diplomatic manor; Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs., Adequate vision and hearing to detect signal lights and warning signals /equipment malfunctions. Ability to use good judgement on job decisions. Must be able to handle stress in emergency situation
