Description:
Reporting to the Assistant Provost and Executive Director the Part-time Secretary plays a central role in supporting the operations of the front desk at the Saltzman Center during evening hours. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working and interacting with the students and Staff at Hofstra University.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Opening or closing the building (depending on the day) or calling public safety to assist
- Answering the telephone and directing calls to the appropriate clinic
- Taking messages for student clinicians, supervisors and administrators
- Taking payments from clients from all clinics
- Processing payments from Clinic Trackers for clients who are seen through telehealth
- Assisting on Saturday mornings with the Reading Writing Learning clinic
- Interact with clients, students and administrators from all four training clinics
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required and prior related experience
- Ability to interact professionally with the public to explain the services offered by our clinics and to accept payments as needed
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Programs
- Proficiency or ability to learn Quickbooks
- Ability to learn the Electronic Health Record System (My Best Practice) and the electronic payment system PaySimple
