Job Title: Semester Lecturer
Department: FAES | Horticulture and Crop Science
Our aim is to recruit, support, and retain a scholar that will teach the Latinos in the Workforce of Land Based Industries course. To that end, we encourage applications from scholars whose teaching is primarily at the undergraduate level. We strongly encourage applications from individuals whose scholarship demonstrates proven teaching capabilities and updated teaching techniques.
The incumbent will become an integral part of HCS academic program. Expertise in teaching courses such as Latino culture and Land Based Industries would be favorable.
We invite the incumbent to use OSU’s extensive network and properties in their teaching program. As illustrations, opportunities exist to engage with various students within the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences and beyond.
Teach approximately 1 course per year, primarily in Summer 2026. Demonstrate an ability to cultivate learning environments that where students feel they belong within Horticulture and Crop Science and related professions. Work collaboratively with university faculty and staff, HCS and/or OSU extension, government agencies, non-government organizations, and/or community groups to advance the land grant mission of the college and university.
Education and Experience Requirements
Required:
- Earned Ph.D Horticulture and Crop Science, Agriculture, or related field.
- Demonstrated interest in or experience with Latino cultures
- Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching.
