The Controller's Office Financial Reporting team prepares the university's annual audited financial statements with assets exceeding $3.5 billion. We are seeking an ambitious and detail-driven accounting professional at the Accountant or Senior Accountant level to join our financial reporting team of six to:

• Ensure the data integrity in lease accounting software related to leases and subscription based information technology arrangements.
• Assist in the preparation of the university's annual audited financial statements and specialized reports.
• Prepare adjusting entries, work papers, footnotes and schedules by applying generally accepted accounting principles.
• Research and implement new and revised accounting standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business-related and/ or an equivalent level of training and experience directly related to professional accounting, auditing or preparing audited annual financial statements.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience gathering, analyzing, summarizing and interpreting data.
• Experience using automated systems and software such as Microsoft applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board pronouncements (GASB) pronouncements.
• Previous experience in a higher education accounting environment.
• Demonstrated experience working with query tools and large datasets (SAS, Microsoft Access, or SQL).

Pay Band: 4

Overtime Status: Exempt: Not eligible for overtime

Appointment Type: Regular

Salary Information: Salary range of $68,000 - $78,000

Hours per week: 40
