Senior Accountant
Job Summary/Basic Functions
Performs Professional accounting work of a complex nature. Thoroughly understands institutional, state, and federal policies, procedures, and restrictions. Ensures compliance with generally accepted accounting principles in executing, analyzing, verifying, and reporting transactions of a fiscal nature. Advises management regarding the effective use of resources and methods to minimize earnings. Monitors records of past and present operations. May serve as a project leader on special projects
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Experience: Five years of previous experience dealing with accounting and budget management is required.
Licensure & Certifications: CPA or other accounting certification preferred.
Job Duties
- 10% - Maintains accounting records for University, EKU Foundation, Inc. and/or Arlington Association
- 35% - Prepares regularly scheduled and special reports.
- 5% - Advises and interprets policies to faculty, staff, and outside persons
- 30% - Assist with annual audits
- 10% - Supervises Accountant.
- 5% - Participates in development and/or implementation of accounting applications
- 5% - Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
