Position Overview

Join Massey University’s Vice Chancellor & Provost Business Services Hub, where you’ll work at the heart of two influential teams — supporting the Dean, Pacific and the Director of Research Operations — while guiding and mentoring other administrators across the hub.

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Manage complex diaries, correspondence, and meeting preparation for senior leaders.
  • Coordinate projects, events, and communications that make a tangible difference.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the wider administration team, ensuring service excellence.

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

To succeed, you will bring:

  • Significant senior administrative experience, preferably in a large, complex organisation.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with accuracy and discretion.
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Strong IT capability, ideally including Microsoft Office 365, Teams, SharePoint, and systems such as E-road, Flexipurchase, and TechOne.
  • Advantageous: executive assistant experience, project coordination skills, and familiarity with research/technical/Pasifika contexts.

This is a fixed-term role for 12 months, working 37.5 hours per week in Palmerston North. Appointment will reflect skills and experience within a Grade 5 ($58,038 - $82,006).
