Position overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor, Employee Relations to join the People and Culture Division. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a positive and collaborative workplace culture, work on complex and meaningful ER/IR matters and build your career in a supportive and high‑performing team.

The position reports to the Senior Manager - Employee Relations, operating with a high degree of autonomy. The Employee Relations team provides expert advice and case management on a range of complex people management issues.

The Employee Relations team is part of the broader ANU People Experience team within the People and Culture Division, and in this role, you will be exposed to a range of strategic projects that will utilise your knowledge to make an impact while building expertise within a supportive and dynamic team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide expert advice and guidance on escalated employee relations matters including performance management, serious misconduct, disputes, grievances, review of decisions and other complex matters.
  • Support and coach internal stakeholders, primarily HR Business Partners and Senior leaders, in navigating workplace matters
  • Interpret and apply industrial instruments, employment law and policies.
  • Keep abreast of legislative changes, and industry trends and contribute to continuous improvement across the University.
  • Contribute to a range of strategic projects and initiatives.
