Āu Mahi | What You Will Do
You will be a skilled SharePoint and MS Teams specialist, you will provide technical leadership and execution to support for the migration of information from on-premise file storage and unstructured document libraries to SharePoint Online.
This role will be pivotal to the development of UC's SharePoint Design and Build practices that support the delivery of consistent, scalable user-centric document management solutions, and standardising permissions to ensure a sustainable and governable SharePoint Online environment
You will provide strong technical leadership, championing simplicity and user experience always – considerate of both end-users and support teams to ensure solutions are efficient to build, use and support.
Utilising your deep SharePoint experience and drawing on the specific business requirements, you will identify best-fit solutions, applying Out-of-box features wherever possible to minimise complexity, and develop proof of concepts to validate potential solutions for non-standard technical scenarios.
Committed to continuous improvement this role will lead regular retrospectives internally. and be actively attuned to updates in the M365 environment, to identify impacts to UC and opportunities to simplify and enhance the product.
You will support and empower the team to build greater confidence and capability with SharePoint Online.
Lead technical discovery and data migration planning, supporting the creation of high-quality, detailed migration documentation that can be executed efficiently and create and maintain high-quality technical design and as-built documentation to support project delivery and BAU support.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, user experience, and organisational productivity. You will have strong analysis and problem-solving skills and be able to demonstrate experience in:
- At least 5 years’ extensive IT experience, including proven hands-on support of Microsoft SharePoint & Teams
- At least 5 years’ experience gathering and translating business requirements into user stories and technical tasks
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline (NZQA Level 7)
- A strong customer centric service ethic that is responsive to all clients both internal and external
- Advanced practical knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications

You will be part of the project team for the Digital Information Programme in supporting UC to migrate files from current on-premise storage to SharePoint Online - the Vault, to ensure our corporate records are managed consistently and in line with UC's Information, Records and Data Policy.
