The Opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi
In this permanent, full-time role based at our City Campus, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of enterprise systems, partnering with business stakeholders and technical teams to deliver high-quality application support. Joining at a pivotal stage of implementation, you will play an important role in shaping the ongoing success of AUT’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Placement system — a platform that will enhance placement management, reduce manual processes, and support better outcomes for staff and students. This is a varied and rewarding role, spanning system configuration, workflow automation, integrations, upgrades, troubleshooting, and higher-level application support. Ultimately, your work will provide the reliable digital foundations needed to support operational excellence and the long-term goals of Te Aronui.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
- You will bring at least 7+ years' experience in a senior application support or systems engineering role, ideally within a complex enterprise environment.
- Experience designing, supporting, and improving workflows, system processes, and business requirements.
- Hands-on experience with complex SQL, HTML, scripting (Bash/PowerShell), automation and code-based configuration.
- Hands-on experience with APIs and integrations, including testing endpoints, working with JSON/XML payloads, troubleshooting data flows using tools such as Postman.
- Strong capability in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, testing, quality assurance, and troubleshooting.
- Confidence working across business and technical teams, translating user needs into practical system solutions.
- Experience supporting a placement management system, such as InPlace, would be an advantage.
- A degree in Computer Science or IT is preferred, though we value equivalent professional experience.

Salary Ranges | Ngā Utu: $110,000 - $131,000 per annum, commensurate with the skills and experience of the successful candidate.
