Pursuant to the decision of the Faculty Council, the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka announces the following
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
for the appointment of an associate to a newly established position of a senior assistant (m/f), scientific area of Biomedicine and Health, scientific field of Basic Medical Sciences, and scientific branch of Cytology, Histology and Embryology, for scientific research within the ERC Starting Grant project Every smell you take – Smell-induced conditioning of the immune system during infections at the Department of Histology and Embryology, the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka, 1 (one) position, full-time, for a fixed term until 31 October 2030.

Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
- level 8.2 in the area of biomedicine and health or biotechnical sciences
- excellent command of the English language
- computer literacy
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- prior research experience and awards and acknowledgments for research excellence
- prior experience in scientific research (scientific projects); published papers; presentations at scientific conferences; participation in summer schools and courses

By submitting an application, applicants expressly consent to the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka, as the data controller, collecting, using and further processing their personal data for the purpose of conducting the application procedure, in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
The Faculty reserves the right to test the applicants who submit a timely and complete application and meet the formal requirements, of which the applicants will be notified subsequently. If an applicant fails to appear for the interview before a committee or take the test, they shall lose their applicant status and the opportunity to proceed with the application procedure. The Faculty reserves the right to annul the Call for applications and not select any candidate, without providing an explanation.
A complete application is one that contains all information and evidence listed in this Call for applications. Incomplete or late applications, as well as applications that do not meet the formal requirements of the Call, shall not be considered.
The deadline for submitting the applications is 30 days from the date of publication of this Call for Applications. The result of the selection procedure will be published on the website of the Faculty of Medicine in Rijeka upon completion of the procedure.
