Senior Assistant

Offer Description

Academic position of Senior Assistant at the Department of Materials Chemistry, Laboratory for Precipitation Processes, in the field of Natural Sciences, branch of Chemistry – for work on the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) project "Biocompatible Multimetallic Oxide Nanocomposites for Infection Prevention" (BIO-METONIC), for a fixed term of 20 months, 1 position

In addition to the general criteria for employment stipulated in Article 39, Paragraph 7 of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• a doctoral degree (PhD) in the field of Natural Sciences, branch of Chemistry,
• excellent proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in chemical synthesis and methods such as UV/Vis spectroscopy, conductometry, and potentiometry.

In addition to the application for the position of Senior Assistant, applicants must submit: a CV, the relevant diploma, the e-mail contact of at least one referee, and other evidence of meeting the selection criteria.

An employment relationship for the position of Senior Assistant for work on a project funded by the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) may be established a maximum of two times, on two different projects, and only with a candidate whose period between enrolment in doctoral studies and employment in the position advertised in this vacancy does not exceed 10 years.

An employment relationship for the position of Senior Assistant is established for a fixed term of up to four years. With a candidate for the position of Senior Assistant who has already been employed as a Senior Assistant, an employment relationship may be established only for the time remaining up to 4 years, and the candidate is required to submit previous employment contracts or other proof of employment in the position of Senior Assistant.

The employment includes a six-month trial period.

A candidate selected for an associate position who obtained their higher education qualification abroad must, before the employment relationship is established, submit an Opinion on the Evaluation of the Foreign Higher Education Qualification issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

In accordance with Article 13 of the Gender Equality Act, persons of both sexes may apply.
