Senior Associate Program Director, Master of Counselling Program (Victoria Campus)
City University of Seattle in Canada is seeking a Senior Associate Program Director for the Master of Counselling Program in the School of Health and Social Sciences. This full-time role involves hybrid work with on-site activities at the Saanich campus. Candidates should have experience in post-secondary educational program coordination and administration, hold a relevant doctoral degree, and be a registered psychologist with clinical experience or a counselling professional registered with BCACC or a similar governing body.
Job Summary: Reporting to the Program Director, the role ensures the quality and integrity of the Master of Counselling Program at the Saanich Campus. Responsibilities include providing proactive student support, developing teaching faculty, scheduling courses and assigning instructors, leading the academic administration team, participating in curriculum and course development, teaching core courses, and engaging in academic governance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Program Management: Plan, organize, direct, and monitor program operations, including scheduling, managing the academic calendar, coordinating information sessions, contributing to strategic planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing student supports, and maintaining program currency.
- Teaching Excellence: Teach two courses per year to ensure program quality and student learning, while modeling excellence in teaching.
- Performance of Faculty and Staff Management: Oversee performance of Associate Program Directors, staff, and faculty; handle hiring, development, evaluation, and mentoring to foster a respectful learning environment.
- Curriculum Development and Review: Collaborate to align curriculum with CityU Academic Model and accreditation standards.
- Student Learning and Development: Oversee student learning, engagement, selection, internships, and capstone projects, advocating for ethical and professional development.
- Academic and Institutional Governance: Participate in councils, committees, and support the Program Advisory Committee.
- Currency and Scholarship: Promote scholarship in teaching and facilitate professional development.
- Service and Outreach: Engage with professional communities and stakeholders for program relevance and partnerships.
Requirements: Minimum qualifications include being a registered psychologist or mental health professional with a doctorate (preferred) or Master's in a relevant field, at least 5 years of post-registration clinical experience, registration with a regulatory body, and experience in higher education management. Candidates must be culturally competent, skilled in communication, proficient in Microsoft Office and learning management systems, and able to work in a dynamic environment.
Salary: $92,000 - $110,000 CAD annually. Benefits include paid holidays, health plans, retirement savings, tuition benefits, and flexible schedules.
