Senior Audio Visual Engineer
Main duties and responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Senior Audio-Visual Engineer to help deliver and maintain the smooth running of our AV systems across a range of teaching, learning, and meeting spaces.
In this varied and practical role, you'll be a valued member of the Digital and Technology directorates’ AV Facilities team, supporting and maintaining the AV equipment and systems across our vibrant university campus. From ensuring teaching spaces are AV-ready, to resolving live technical issues and maintaining systems for events and lectures, this is a role where you can see the direct impact of your work.
You'll have opportunities to support and influence AV design, configuration, and integration, while contributing to a responsive and supportive service. Whether it’s supporting large-scale lectures, specialist teaching spaces, or collaborative meetings, your expertise will help provide a high-quality experience for students and staff alike.
We’re seeking someone who is:
- Experienced in setting up and maintaining AV equipment in event or teaching environments.
- Comfortable diagnosing and resolving a range of AV and IT-related issues.
- Confident supporting users with varying levels of technical knowledge including providing internal support and training to other members of the AV team
- Flexible and self-motivated, with excellent attention to detail, and a commitment to customer service.
A strong understanding of AV systems that include projectors, displays, audio and control systems is essential. Prior experience in IT networks and AV/IT integration, including lecture capture, Microsoft Teams meetings, and PC configuration, is desirable.
