About the Role
We are offering an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced bioinformatician to work at the interface of academia and industry, joining a multidisciplinary team working on histolopathological and omics analyses of samples from a clinical study sponsored by Takeda which aims to understand the molecular basis of Crohn’s Disease to identify disease pathways and potential new treatment targets. In this role you will develop new methodologies, taking overall or shared responsibility for development/maintenance of computational pipelines for integration of omics data with other relevant datasets. You will also identify, define and plan new projects, coordinating analysis of omics data and relevant associated datasets as required to support the programme objectives as well as manage data scientists to support the programme objectives. This position requires you to work closely with experimental, clinical and industry partners to better understand the domain, help address scientific hypotheses and support the programme objectives.
About You
You will hold a PhD/DPhil with a significant computational and/or statistical element together with expertise in bioinformatics analysis of omics datasets, including single-cell and spatial multi-omics, and single-cell immune repertoire analysis. You will have demonstrable experience of applying machine learning/AI methods as well as experience and knowledge of python programming. You will also have demonstrable experience of software development using version control (e.g. GitHub or similar) and experience using a High Performance Computing environment alongside an interest in immunology in the context of disease.
