Position Overview

Massey University is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Business Analyst to join our dynamic team. Based on our beautiful Palmerston North campus, this is a pivotal role supporting strategic initiatives and operational improvements across the university.

About the Role

As a Senior Business Analyst, you will lead the analysis and design of business solutions that enhance service delivery, improve efficiency, and support Massey’s strategic goals. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across academic and professional services to understand business needs, identify opportunities, and deliver actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead business analysis activities for complex projects and initiatives.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and stakeholder engagement to gather requirements.
• Develop business cases, process maps, and functional specifications.
• Collaborate with project managers, developers, and testers to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior analysts.
• Champion continuous improvement and innovation across business processes.

About You

• Proven experience in business analysis, ideally in large or complex organisations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
• Expertise in business process modelling, requirements gathering, and solution design.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience in the tertiary education sector is advantageous but not essential.
• Relevant qualifications in Business Analysis or related fields.
