(Senior) Clinical Trials Database Developer

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced (Senior) Clinical Trials Database Developer to join our team of data management and IT staff supporting a growing portfolio of clinical trials. This post will be offered at either Grade 4 (Database Developer) or Grade 5 (Senior Database Developer) based on experience. The post holder will take responsibilities for database development and data management activities for a number of clinical research studies supported by the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit (PCTU) with the senior post overseeing and leading these activities.

About You

The successful candidate will be educated to Degree level or above, with relevant experience of building trial databases using EDC systems in clinical research. Essential requirements include experience of developing relevant data management processes and documentation and good understanding of the regulatory framework around data protection and information governance.

About the School/Department/Institute/Project

The Wolfson Institute of Population Health (WIPH) is an exciting and dynamic environment, home to 450 staff, 100 PhD students and 500 postgraduate taught students. It harnesses expertise across a wide range of population-based research and education activities and is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in population health, primary care and preventive medicine. The Institute is organised into six research centres which, though complementary and following the Institute’s strategic plan, also have Centre-specific objectives and requirements.

The postholder will be based in the Centre for Evaluation and Methods, a thriving research centre incorporating four collaborative units working closely together to deliver outstanding research based on their combined and complementary research strengths. PCTU is a registered UKCRC trials unit which leads and supports clinical trials in which the primary question of interest relates to intervention effectiveness: whether an intervention works under real-life conditions.

The post is based at the Whitechapel Campus, London. It is a full-time (35 hours per week), fixed-term appointment for 1 year, with an expected start date of Autumn 2025.
