SENIOR COMPLIANCE ANALYST

Position Summary:
This position provides support for institutional accreditation, state authorization, and related regulatory compliance functions related to the delivery of university courses (credit and non-credit), programs, and other academic-related activities, primarily those delivered off-campus and online, by preparing/conducting compliance-required surveys, disclosures, and other required reports for CMU stakeholders, and/or requests to state, national and/or international authorities. This frequently involves gathering relevant information, understanding it, and compiling information to provide to the Executive Director, or to others as directed. This position also supervises the preparation of affiliation agreements, provides support to the civilian and international MOU/MOA process, maintains departmental and accreditation websites, and coordinates reconciliation of departmental budgets. If requested, this position may work with senior leadership, managers, staff, and academic partners among others in support of these activities. This position is expected to perform with a high level of accuracy, thoroughness, and critical thinking.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business, educational administration, paralegal, or legal studies. Two years related work experience with demonstrated increased position responsibility. Ability to prepare information/compile data in formats suitable for submission and/or providing to others. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal competencies. Strong self-starter, attention to detail and highly organized, and ability to function in ambiguous environments. Ability to understand complex issues, ask appropriate questions, and apply information to the working environment. Ability to follow-through and meet deadlines. Ability to work successfully in a team environment, project a positive image, and foster positive collegiality. Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Graduate degree. Prior work experience within a higher education environment. Demonstrated work experience with contractual or related documents. Demonstrated familiarity and work experience with accreditation, state authorization, and/or regulations. Ability to effectively conduct internet research. Experience with budget reconciliation responsibilities. Ability to compile, organize and use research data to prepare reports and required authorization submission support documents. Knowledge of email and Microsoft products including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and online systems, and awareness of how to leverage technology in the performance of duties and responsibilities. Demonstrated knowledge in identifying, researching, and understanding applicable regulations and then making appropriate recommendations for achieving authorization and/or regulatory compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Supervises the Coordinator/Affiliation Agreements in the preparation of affiliation agreements. Supervises the Coordinator/Compliance Support Services in the support of research and document preparation related to state authorization and professional licensure. Identifies and recommends process improvement strategies for Affiliation Agreements and Compliance Support Services. Assists the Executive Director as needed in gathering compliance- and accreditation-related information, particularly as related to Higher Learning Commission Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO) duties. Assists the Executive Director in providing support in the completion and signature process of civilian domestic and international MOAs/MOUs, as needed. Maintains departmental websites, state authorization resources, and professional licensure/certification disclosures in an accurate, current, and thorough manner. Coordinates reconciliation of departmental budgets and identifies any areas of concern. Assists with the research of, and understands, the requirements of state authorization and other related regulatory laws, statutes, and regulations that helps inform the Executive Director on pending and/or anticipated regulatory requirements, and on submission and compliance requirements that relate to delivery of university courses (credit and non-credit), programs, and/or other covered academic-related activities. Contributes to the completion of other responsibilities within the department as requested or needed.
