Coordinate with the Office of Sponsored Programs on audits and
compliance reviews of sponsored awards to ensure Missouri S&T
meets award obligations, including appropriate expenditure of
funds, equipment stewardship, and adherence to contractual
requirements.
Develop, implement, and maintain research integrity and
compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring strategies.
Collaborate with University of Missouri System offices to
review and monitor Conflict of Interest (COI) disclosures and
management plans; serve as the primary COI resource for the
Missouri S&T campus.
Conduct assessments and monitoring activities to evaluate
compliance with research regulations and identify opportunities for
program improvement.
Serve as a campus resource and liaison to the Institutional
Review Board (IRB) of record.
Provide administrative oversight and support for the
Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) and
Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), in collaboration with
faculty chairpersons.
Develop and deliver training programs, tools, and educational
resources related to responsible conduct of research, research
integrity, and regulatory compliance.
Coordinate and collaborate with other university compliance
functions to ensure a comprehensive and integrated compliance
program.
Interpret and communicate policies, regulations, and procedures
to faculty, staff, students, and administrators to ensure
institutional and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with research administration, university
leadership, legal counsel, and other stakeholders to interpret and
apply complex research regulations and guidance.
Represent the university in interactions with regulatory
agencies, sponsors, accreditation bodies, and other external
stakeholders on matters related to research integrity and
compliance.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and
experience and at least 3 years of experience from which comparable
knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field; minimum of 3 years of
experience in research compliance, regulatory affairs, or a related
field, preferably in higher education or research environment
- Work experience in research compliance functions, which may
include proposal review; Subject areas include federal, state, and
university disclosure requirements, federal funding agency
requirements, human health research, responsible conduct in
research, and research integrity, among others
- In-depth knowledge of federal laws, regulations, and policies
governing research (e.g., DOD, DOE, NIH, NSF)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the
ability to interpret and apply complex regulations and policies
effectively
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established
as $53,976-76,024 annually.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not
limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education,
skills, and experience, as well as organizational
requirements.
