Senior Coordinator (Curriculum Support)

  • Term: Ongoing, part-time basis for 58 hours per fortnight
  • Remuneration: $120,443 to $131,749 pa (HEW7) (inclusive of $101,775 to $111,330 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
  • Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)
  • Open to: The position is open to current staff members of QUT who have ongoing full-time work rights in Australia. Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Senior Coordinator (Curriculum Support) to join QUT Library, Education Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Senior Coordinator (Curriculum Support) sits in the Library Resource Services (LRS) team. The position’s focus is to support the student experience by ensuring QUT has a single source of truth for course readings. This includes identifying and partnering with Unit Coordinators and academics to utilise Open Education Resources (OERs), where possible. It aims to promote the use of zero-cost textbooks to ease the cost-of-living burden on students during these financially challenging times.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree in the field of Library Science or Information Management (Libraries) with subsequent relevant experience. 
  2. Demonstrated experience in partnering with stakeholders in the selection and procurement of higher education student resources, and/or in the management of student reading lists.
  3. Demonstrated experience in understanding/applying Australian Copyright law, Creative Commons licensing and working on initiatives in Open Educational Resources.
  4. Demonstrated high-level literacy skills, including the ability to use automated library systems and standard software/ communication packages. Of special interest: Talis Aspire, and Ex Libris’ Alma Library Services Platform.
  5. Well-developed knowledge of, and experience in, higher education student library resource management.
  6. Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, set goals, prioritise work and achieve successful outcomes within deadlines.
  7. Demonstrated high level communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively consult and collaborate with internal and external clients on a diverse range of matters in a professional and confident manner.
  8. Demonstrated ability to rethink the way a specific body of knowledge is applied to solve problems, and to apply theoretical knowledge and experience to find solutions to workflow problems. 
  9. Demonstrated experience in the supervision of small teams.
