Preparing patients and the CBCT room for radiographic
examinations, including room disinfection and ensuring that all
necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
Communicating with dental students, residents, faculty,
patients, and referring providers regarding scheduling, fees, and
completion of radiographic examinations.
Cleaning and disinfecting the radiology room and equipment
between patients in accordance with infection-control
protocols.
Performing weekly CBCT unit calibration and quality-control
procedures.
Acquiring CBCT, panoramic, intraoral, and cephalometric
radiographs, including taking CBCT scans and other radiographs as
needed to support patient care and clinic operations.
Assisting with radiographic acquisition when additional imaging
is needed or when support is required in the Radiology Clinic.
Assisting with and participating in DXTTR radiology training
sessions for dental and dental hygiene students as needed.
Distributing CBCT images and radiology reports to referring
providers in accordance with established procedures and patient
privacy requirements.
Assisting with the organization and maintenance of the
Radiology Clinic and imaging areas (in both radiology clinics – Old
and new building) as needed.
Assist with patient payments and related account procedures as
needed.
Create and maintain a digital clinical photograph library.
Provide chairside assistance to faculty as needed.
Perform administrative duties as needed.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of
experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities
can be acquired is necessary. Certifications as required by
state/federal law or regulatory agencies is necessary ( Certified
Dental Assistant (CDA) Certification OR Passing the Missouri Test
of Basic Dental Assisting Skills)
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience exposing intraoral radiographs
with phosphor plate and solid-state sensors using sensor holding,
beam alignment devices
- At least 5 years of experience exposing digital panoramic and
cephalometric radiographs
- At least 2 years of experience in exposing CBCT scans.
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established
as $17.40 - $21.00 per hour.
Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not
limited to, the individual’s particular combination of education,
skills, and experience, as well as organizational
requirements.
