Senior Executive, Dean's Office (Edu- Audit) - (2 year contract)
Job Description
Join Us in Shaping and Safeguarding the Future of Medical Education – Audit & Systems Enhancement Role (Full Training & Team Support Provided)
At NUS Medicine, we uphold the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and academic excellence. This role supports a school-wide audit mandate from the Provost’s Office and works across all departments and divisions to strengthen education governance and outcomes.
You will partner with the audit lead and a small, supportive team to review academic processes, systems, and controls—ensuring programmes remain robust, compliant with NUS policies and regulatory requirements, and continuously improving for students, faculty, and future healthcare professionals.
This is a modern audit role, not a repetitive, manual assignment. You will combine rigorous audit practice with guided automation using Microsoft Power Platform, making compliance smarter, easier to maintain, and less burdensome. You’ll receive comprehensive hands-on training, paired working, ongoing mentoring, and access to Microsoft certifications from day one. Many colleagues joined with no Power Platform experience and are now confident builders.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and prepare audit engagements: define scope, assess risks, set timelines, and document workpapers thoroughly.
- Conduct end-to-end audits of education processes, systems, and controls to ensure adherence to NUS policies and relevant standards.
- Produce clear, comprehensive audit reports and live dashboards with actionable recommendations for stakeholders and leadership.
- Follow up on agreed actions, monitor implementation with automated trackers, and reduce repeat findings.
- Review compliance with internal policies and external regulations; identify gaps and propose practical, forward-looking corrective measures (often automated).
- Assess and communicate risks effectively; partner with departments on pragmatic mitigation plans.
Who Will Excel and Enjoy This Role
You care about high standards and want your audit work to have lasting impact. You enjoy detailed, investigative work but want to move beyond endless spreadsheets and email follow-ups. You are curious, open to learning user-friendly tools, and like seeing your solutions used daily across the school. You value a collaborative, supportive team that helps each other succeed.
Qualifications
- Degree (or Diploma with strong experience) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Relevant experience in auditing, compliance, quality assurance, or process improvement; exposure to academic or healthcare settings (especially medical education) is a plus but not required.
- Strong analytical skills, sound judgement, and high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; confident engaging and presenting to diverse stakeholders (academic, clinical, and administrative).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages) is advantageous. → No prior Power Platform experience needed — full training, and daily guidance provided.
- Ability to work independently when needed and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team, always with professionalism, integrity, and empathy.
This is an ideal opportunity for a capable audit professional who wants to grow into a modern, high-impact role where audit expertise meets practical digital innovation — all within a supportive team that invests in your success
