Expected skills:

Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high-level scientific record in accordance with UGA’s ambitions. Context and educational objectives:

Educational expectations

• The successful candidate will teach 20th-century French literature in the BA literature programme in Grenoble and Valence, as well as in other BA programs offered by the Department of Literature. They may be involved in teaching the fundamentals of the degree programme, both lectures and tutorials (such as: “Literary Genres”; “Reading Literary Criticism”; “20th-21st Century Literary History”).
• They will also be able to teach courses in the ALC (Arts, Literature and Civilization) and DIC (Diffusion of Culture) Master's programmes. They will be able to teach preparatory courses for teaching exams, CAPES and AGRÉGATION, on 20th-century literature authors (which also consists in online teaching).
• The successful candidate will supervise Master's theses on 20th-century French literature.

Research project and scientific impact:

Scientific profile

• The successful candidate is expected to demonstrate expertise in the literary writing of ideas in the 20th century. Several orientations are possible: literary genres (essays, pamphlets), exploratory forms (journals, notebooks, chronicles), transformations and evolutions of these forms; interactions between literature and social sciences; literary forms of scientific discourses; the use of autobiographical or narrative forms to express ideas; literary criticism, theoretical writing.
• Their work will contribute to the É.CRI.RE research group and to the programmes of the research centre (UMR Litt&Arts): renewal of critical and interdisciplinary approaches, dialogue with the humanities and social sciences, ways in which literary works contribute to major social debates.
