Expected skills:

Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high-level scientific record in accordance with UGA’s ambitions. They must identify with UGA’s values, that is, being open to the world, emphasising ethics and scientific integrity, showing an interest in teamwork and being committed to the community. They should also have a sense of responsibility, in particular with regard to environmental and social issues.

Context and educational objectives:

Educational expectations
The successful candidate must have skills in artificial intelligence in order to work in this field in the Computer Science BUT programme within the Computer Science Department of IUT2 Grenoble. These skills must be applicable to various courses, such as cybersecurity, software engineering, web development, or artificial intelligence (this list is not exhaustive). The successful candidate will also be able to share their expertise with other departments at the IUT. There is significant potential for development in the numerous student projects. Finally, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to discuss teaching practices incorporating AI within the IUT and the EFELIA project.

They will also have to demonstrate their interest and experience in differentiated teaching practices: project-based learning, learning through play, inverted classroom, etc. They will follow students in their internship or work-study program.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a broad and cross-disciplinary vision of the teaching provided in the University Bachelor of Technology, an ability to integrate and collaborate actively within the teaching team, particularly with a view to setting up and participating in learning and assessment situations. Knowledge of the professions targeted by the department's training courses is appreciated.

Administrative activities
The successful candidate is expected to have the ability and interest to take on teaching or supervisory responsibilities within the department in the short or medium term (depending on experience). More specifically, the expectations include for instance:

  • Reflecting on developments in teaching practices
  • Monitoring student progress
  • Managing admissions on ParcourSup
  • Managing internships
  • Managing further studies

Research project and scientific impact:

The Grenoble Computer Science Laboratory (LIG - UMR 5217 ZRR) is seeking outstanding candidates to strengthen its research and impact in artificial intelligence with a colleague with expertise in AI or the use of AI to design innovative use cases related to one or more of the laboratory's research areas. Applicants' scientific backgrounds should fall within one of the following areas:

  • Design of AI models and systems
  • Algorithms and Optimization for AI
  • Neurosymbolic programming
  • Knowledge model
  • Distributed AI, frugal AI, Edge AI, AIOPS
  • Use case design (e.g., digital health, bioinformatics, energy, education, Industry 4.0, etc.)

The successful candidate will join one of LIG’s teams in one of the laboratory's research areas: SIDCH, MFML, SRCPR, GLSI, SIC. The successful candidate must have a high-level research activity and be able to develop international collaborations in the long term.
