Expected skills:

Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high-level scientific record in accordance with UGA’s ambitions. They must identify with UGA’s values, that is, being open to the world, emphasising ethics and scientific integrity, showing an interest in teamwork and being committed to the community. They should also have a sense of responsibility, in particular with regard to environmental and social issues.

Context and educational objectives:

Educational expectations

Université Grenoble Alpes’s INSPE (Faculty of Education) trains future primary and secondary school teachers as well as guidance counselors on its four geographical locations.

The successful candidate will teach on all INSPE courses. They will contribute to training in educational sciences, particularly in the field of effective practices. They must have an excellent command of work relating to teaching effectiveness, the effects of teaching practices on student learning, and issues related to student assessment.

The ability to establish links between the contributions of educational sciences and other teachings related to fundamental processes in psychology will be appreciated.

The successful candidate will also participate in training in and through educational research. In this regard, a good understanding of the processes related to the effectiveness of systems, particularly with regard to the implementation of evidence-based practices, will be an asset.

In general, this senior lecturer position is part of INSPE's desire to strengthen the link between training, research, and professional practices. The successful candidate will be expected to actively contribute to this link by promoting dialogue and cooperation between the various multidisciplinary stakeholders involved in training.

Research project and scientific impact:

Scientific profile

The successful candidate will join the Laboratory for Research on Learning in Context (LaRAC), a research unit in the field of Educational Sciences, focused on the study of learning processes in context, through a variety of theoretical frameworks and empirical methodologies.

The candidate will contribute to strengthening the laboratory’s cross-cutting theme dedicated to the analysis of the effects of teaching practices and the effectiveness of educational interventions, with particular attention to their impact on learning in a variety of educational contexts (school, initial or professional training, etc.).

The research to be developed should follow a rigorous empirical approach, drawing on quantitative or mixed methodologies, and aim to evaluate the effects, conditions of effectiveness, or underlying mechanisms of pedagogical practices and teaching arrangements.

The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with researchers from other disciplines within the laboratory (psychology, didactics, or sociology), to actively engage in ongoing projects, and to initiate new research dynamics. Establishing partnerships in the field (teachers, trainers, educational institutions) and ensuring the transferability of research outcomes to educational practices and public policies will be considered a significant asset.

The successful candidate will also take part in the supervision of research work, particularly at the master’s level, and contribute to the collective dynamics of LaRAC.

Finally, international engagement is expected, through the dissemination of research in leading scientific journals, participation in international networks, and involvement in collaborative research projects and responses to calls for proposals.
