Expected skills:
Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high-level scientific record in accordance with UGA’s ambitions and standard. They must identify with UGA’s values, that is, being open to the world, emphasizing ethics and scientific integrity, showing an interest in teamwork and being committed to the community. They should also have a sense of responsibility, in particular with regard to environmental and social issues.

Educational expectations
The successful candidate will be expected to teach at all levels of the sociology bachelor's degree program and the two master's degree programs in social sciences (SCEN, VH2S).
Experience will be expected in general sociology, political sociology and sociology of public policy, applied to the fields of the environment, social mobilizations, and social movements.
The successful candidate must also have experience in conducting and teaching sociological research (quantitative or qualitative approaches), including in dialogue with other disciplines such as demography, geography, urban planning, or political science. Experience with teaching in a workshop format will be appreciated.
Expertise in intervention research, action research or participatory research will be expected. The successful candidate will contribute to the professionalization of students by developing and coordinating a network of partners likely to offer internships and employment opportunities.
Research project and scientific impact:
Scientific profile
The successful candidate will conduct research in political sociology and the sociology of public policy, particularly at the local level, focusing on transitions, environmental issues, social mobilisations, and their effects on individuals, territories, and systems of governance. Their research may focus on regulatory activities as well as on the dynamics of appropriation, misappropriation, adaptation, circumvention, and rejection (e.g., of environmental policies).
The successful candidate will have experience in sociological surveys (quantitative or qualitative approaches), including in dialogue with other disciplines such as demography, geography, urban planning, and political science.
They will join either Pacte's Governance or Cities and Territories team, but their work must be able to engage in dialogue with that of other teams.
The ability to engage in interdisciplinary work is essential for joining a laboratory such as Pacte; this may take place within the social sciences and/or in collaboration with the natural sciences, physical sciences, medical sciences, or engineering.
The successful candidate must demonstrate the ability to conduct innovative research. Proficiency in English is essential, both for publishing in this language and for engaging in international collaborations.
