The Faculty of Arts of the University of Lausanne invites applications for a full-time Senior Lecturer in American Literature in the English Department.

- Expected start date in position: 1 February 2027
- Contract length: Six-year contract, renewable
- Activity rate: 100%
Workplace: Lausanne-Dorigny
Your responsibilities
- Teaching load of 8 hours per week (BA and MA level seminars).
- Supervision of MA and PhD students, support for exams.
- Individual research.
- Participation in the research activities and administration of the Section.
Your qualifications
- PhD in American Literature or equivalent
- Academic teaching experience in the field of American literature, and ability to teach (and supervise MA theses in) a wide range of topics
- Proven research record in the field of American literature
- Strong expertise in Critical Theory, Black and/or Native American Studies and Eco-criticism, preferably with a strong background in 19th and 20th century literature including poetry
- Ability to teach a wide range of introductory and advanced American Studies seminars, from the colonial period to postmodernism
- Excellent links with international networks
- Strong organizing and administrative experience
- Ability to teach in English and function administratively in French
