About the DDLS Fellows Programme
The SciLifeLab and Wallenberg National Program for Data-Driven Life Science (DDLS), funded by the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation (KAW), is a major national initiative to advance computational and data-driven life science research across Sweden. The program supports 50 young group leaders (“DDLS Fellows”), over 210 postdoctoral positions, and a research school for 260 PhD students.
Each Fellow receives a recruitment package of 17 MSEK (≈1.6 million USD) over 5 years, covering salary and resources for PhD students and postdocs. These tenure-track positions are hosted at 11 participating Swedish universities and research organizations, with long-term faculty appointments following successful tenure evaluation.
DDLS Fellows operate in one of four strategic areas:
- Cell and Molecular Biology
- Evolution and Biodiversity
- Precision Medicine and Diagnostics
- Epidemiology and Biology of Infection
