As a key member of the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, you will have the opportunity to lead pop and commercial music within the Interactive Composition program, crafting innovative curriculum and guiding students into music industry pathways. Your expertise will contribute to groundbreaking research and collaborative projects that blend pop and commercial music with diverse art forms, media, and performance contexts.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead Innovative Teaching: Develop and deliver lectures and tutorials in pop and commercial music and digital and analogue sound technology production.
- Advance Curriculum Development: Initiate and develop pop and commercial music subject material within the Interactive Composition program and enrich interdisciplinary collaborations across the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music and the music industry.
- Foster Research Excellence: Cultivate innovation in pop and commercial music research, producing high-profile creative outputs.
- Engage with Professional Community: Contribute to outreach activities, performances, and conferences, enhancing the program's visibility.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an accomplished pop and commercial music industry practitioner with a national or international profile, passionate about teaching and research, and eager to contribute to a dynamic team in the Interactive Composition program.
You will also:
- Be an innovative leader with extensive experience in pop and commercial music.
- Possess a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline, ideally a PhD.
- Demonstrate a strong track record in designing and teaching pop and commercial music industry subjects at the tertiary level.
- Excel in collaborative and interdisciplinary projects, working effectively with colleagues and students.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills and a commitment to professional integrity.
