Expected skills:
Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high‐level scientific record in accordance with UGA’s ambitions. They must identify with UGA’s values, that is, being open to the world, emphasising ethics and scientific integrity, showing an interest in teamwork and being committed to the community. They should also have a sense of responsibility, in particular with regard to environmental and social issues.
Context and educational objectives:
The successful candidate must be able to teach industrial property law (patents, trademarks, designs and models) at both undergraduate (face‐to‐face and distance learning) and postgraduate (Master's in Intellectual Property and New Technology Law) levels. They will be able to provide new teaching solutions and also contribute to the implementation of work‐study programmes in this Master's degree.
They will demonstrate an ability to teach intellectual property in a cross‐disciplinary manner and in relation to new technologies.
An additional specialisation in private law will be appreciated in view of the diversity of courses offered at the Faculty of Law.
Their interest in undertaking tasks of general interest will also be appreciated.
Research project and scientific impact:
At CESICE Laboratory
The successful candidate has expertise in property law and/or digital law. They must be able to develop solid research in both private law and an interdisciplinary framework, enabling them to work in conjunction with the CyberAlps interdisciplinary research group (bringing together lawyers, computer scientists, mathematicians, physicists, economists, political scientists, etc.). They must be able to develop applied research in the field of private law (contracts and liability, data protection, European law, international law, identity, etc.).
The successful candidate will publish regularly in leading journals on industrial property law, intellectual property law and digital law, in both French and English. They must also be involved in the Centre for Studies on International Security and European Cooperation (CESICE), particularly alongside intellectual property specialists.
At CRJ Laboratory
The successful candidate has expertise in industrial property law (patents, trademarks, designs, plant varieties…) and is able to take a cross‐functional approach to intellectual property. The successful candidate has the ability to consider intellectual property in relation with technological developments.
They must regularly publish articles in leading journals on industrial property law, intellectual property law and digital law in both French and English.
They must also be involved in the Centre de recherches juridiques (CRJ), working alongside intellectual property specialists.
