Expected skills:
Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high-level scientific record in accordance with UGA’s ambitions. They must identify with UGA’s values, that is, being open to the world, emphasising ethics and scientific integrity, showing an interest in teamwork and being committed to the community. They should also have a sense of responsibility, in particular with regard to environmental and social issues.
Context and educational objectives:
Courses will be taught within the Computer Science department of IUT. The successful candidate will have to teach development, human-machine interaction, web development, systems and networks.
Teaching activities should allow the students to acquire professional skills in computer development.
The successful candidate will also be required to follow students on internships or work-study programs and supervise them as part of their tutored projects.
Opportunities to teach in engineering degrees also exists on the Valence campus.
Administrative responsibilities may be proposed in the medium term, according to the candidate's interest.
Research project and scientific impact:
LCIS (laboratory of Systems and Communication Engineering) is a multidisciplinary laboratory that brings together the main areas of expertise required to address the field of embedded and communicating systems: computer science, electronics, and control engineering. Its research focuses on the study of interconnected hardware/software systems interacting with their physical environment. The LCIS develops new methods, models, and tools for the design and integration of such systems, from components to applications. The research also incorporates sustainability objectives, with particular attention to eco-design and frugal design approaches. In this context, special attention is given during recruitment to candidates whose research activities align with these orientations.
The CTSYS team at the LCIS laboratory studies the security and safety of embedded, distributed, and general systems. It is a multidisciplinary team organised around two main directions:
- Theme 1: Hardware and software security and safety: models and fault injection, side channels, hardware protections, security compilation tools, verification.
- Theme 2: Security and safety of pervasive applications: monitors, quality of service, joint approaches, methodologies of design.
Other topics addressed by the team include programming language design, optimising compilation, and energy self-consumption.
The successful candidate will be required to develop their research project in computer science, within the context of one or more of the team's areas of focus and themes. Applications offering new expertise (operating systems, communications, new applications) related to these themes will be given careful consideration.
The successful candidate will be expected to take part in the collective responsibilities of both the teaching department and the research laboratory. They will contribute to the laboratory’s collective activities to enhance its visibility, participate in its scientific outreach and dissemination, and play an active role in securing funding for new national and international research projects.
