Context and educational objectives:

Teaching Description:

The successful candidate will join the teaching team of the GMP department at IUT 1 Grenoble.

They will teach across all our programmes (BUT years 1, 2 and 3), delivering lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions. The teaching modules are related to Production – Methods – Metrology and/or Industrial Organisation and Management (OPI).

For the Production – Methods – Metrology area, the successful candidate will join a team of 7 lecturers and will deliver practical sessions on the IUT1 technological platform. The teaching activities (lectures, tutorials, and practicals) will cover the following fields:

  • Mechanical manufacturing (CNC and conventional machining, EDM, sheet metal cutting/bending, …)
  • CAM
  • Production methods
  • Metrology (including CMM)

For the OPI module, the scope is broader, covering all 3 years of the BUT programme, including project management, the fundamentals of production management (inventory management, MRP methods, plant layout), production control, lean manufacturing concepts, flow simulation using dedicated software (Witness), maintenance management, and Industry 4.0 concepts.

The successful candidate should demonstrate expertise in teaching in one or both of these areas. Both profiles will be valued. Skills in control systems and/or automation will also be appreciated.

They will contribute, along with the team, to the development of teaching activities as well as to the evolution of teaching platforms, such as the Operations Management platform for OPI and/or the Machine Tool platform (S.Mart).

Within the framework of a competency-based approach, and in line with the national BUT GMP programme, strong interaction with other disciplines will be necessary, particularly within the context of SAé (Learning and Assessment Situations). The successful candidate must therefore demonstrate a willingness to work as part of a team.

Responsibilities and Supervisory Duties:

The successful candidate will also be involved in other teaching-related activities such as student support (internships and apprenticeships), academic success, and graduate employability.

They will participate in the life of the department and contribute to pedagogical activities, by attending meetings, participating in exams, and representing the department externally when necessary.

In the longer term, involvement in administrative and collective tasks of the department or institute will be required. Taking responsibility for a teaching module, a platform, and/or a study year will also be expected.

Candidates are strongly encouraged to contact the department for further details.

G-SCOP is a multidisciplinary laboratory organised to meet the scientific challenges posed by transition of the industrial world. The laboratory's scope ranges from product design to production system management, drawing on strong optimisation expertise. G-SCOP is a leading laboratory in France in the field of production systems and internationally, through its research networks (CIRP, Design Society, etc.) and its research projects linked to industry. We address the scientific challenges posed by the profound changes in industry toward greater sustainability, consideration of human factors, and societal constraints through the development of technologies, the evaluation of tools, and the development of organizational models to support these transitions.

Scientific Profile

The successful candidate will join the Cosys (Systemic Design: Human, Environment, Technologies) research team at the G-SCOP laboratory. This research team is dedicated to exploring topics related to sustainability and design, placing the user at the center of its research. This work integrates the themes of the circular economy, the design of sustainable products and services, eco-design, user-centered design, and personalisation.

The successful candidate will be expected to define, develop, and implement working tools and methods, as well as their evaluations in at least one of the modern technologies of Industry 4.0: Disassembly and Design for Disassembly; Cobotics and Workstation Design; Remanufacturing, Recycling, and Circular Industrial Organisation; Energy Consumption and Environmental Impacts of Industrial Systems; Digital Simulations, etc. This work will be based on the S.mart Grenoble Alpes Operation Management technology platform associated with the laboratory. This is a platform for developing and demonstrating innovative solutions for industrial organization and optimization of production operations. The approaches developed will be those of a technologist with a focus on designing work environments for production systems of the future.
