James Cook University’s College of Medicine & Dentistry is seeking a passionate medical educator to contribute to Year 4 teaching at our Cairns Clinical School. This is an outstanding opportunity for a committed clinician to combine hands-on medical expertise with meaningful academic engagement in a regional setting.

About the role

Reporting to the Year 4 Academic Coordinator, you will contribute to the coordination, teaching and assessment of the Year 4 on-campus curriculum. You’ll provide academic and pastoral support to medical students, play a key role in program delivery, and contribute to ongoing curriculum innovation.

You will also have the opportunity to engage in scholarship and collaborative research aligned with medical education and regional health service delivery, while supporting JCU’s strong commitment to reconciliation, sustainability and community impact.

About you

You will bring:

  • Current registration as a medical practitioner in Australia
  • Clinical care experience
  • Experience teaching in undergraduate and/or postgraduate medical education
  • An understanding of rural and remote medical practice
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively
