- Salary: $147,138 – $169,011 per annum, plus 17% Super and Leave Loading.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Lecturer in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, you will play a key role in strengthening Western’s teaching, learning and research programs in midwifery. You will design high-quality learning activities, lead innovative teaching approaches, and support student learning across undergraduate and postgraduate programs in alignment with Western Sydney University policies and educational standards.
You will contribute to course development, quality assurance, curriculum enhancement and assessment practices, while maintaining active engagement in scholarly, professional and research activities. The role includes supervising Higher Degree Research students, supporting the development of early career academics, and contributing to applications for competitive research funding.
You will also engage with key partners across the higher education sector, the midwifery profession and industry to enhance teaching relevance, research impact and student employability. This is a role for someone committed to advancing midwifery scholarship and shaping the next generation of practitioners.
What Success Looks Like:
- Deliver high-quality teaching and student support across undergraduate, postgraduate and HDR cohorts.
- Lead curriculum development, pedagogical innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Produce high-quality research outputs with recognised scholarly impact.
- Build strong professional and industry relationships that support learning and research outcomes

About You
- A PhD in Midwifery or a related field, along with current registration (or eligibility) as a Midwife in Australia.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering high-quality teaching using a range of pedagogical approaches and technologies.
- Evidence of a strong research track record, including publications and capacity to attract research funding.
- Ability to inspire and support students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) for paid employment, or the ability to obtain one prior to commencement is required for this role.
