Expected skills:
Applicants must show a strong interest in teaching as well as a high-level scientific record in accordance with UGA’s ambitions. They must identify with UGA’s values, that is, being open to the world, emphasising ethics and scientific integrity, showing an interest in teamwork and being committed to the community. They should also have a sense of responsibility, in particular with regard to environmental and social issues.
Context and educational objectives:
Educational expectations
Applicants will have expertise in specialised communication, and the successful candidate will be asked to do most of their teaching in LEA (Applied Foreign Languages), but could be asked to teach in LLCER (Foreign and Regional Languages, Literatures and Civilisations).
The successful candidate will teach in LEA at Bachelor’s and/or Master’s levels (but in LLCER also) in particular to use in specialised language or professional communication or methodology classes their skills in digital communication.
They will have to be a team worker, and display some polyvalence so as to use their skills, according to the needs of the department, for pedagogical innovation in language classes (grammar or translation at the graduate level for example).
The applicants who will have displayed a reflection on questions of pedagogy or ideas of innovative pedagogical projects will be favoured.
The successful candidate will be asked to exercise responsibilities and/or tasks of pedagogical coordination, at Bachelor’s and Master’s levels, for LEA/LLCER, within the department of Spanish Studies, and more broadly within UFR Sociétés, Cultures et Langues Etrangères (cross-language section responsibilities …). They will have to take part in the life of the university (collective tasks at the level of councils, ILCEA4 and/or the university, recruitment committees…).
Research project and scientific impact:
The successful candidate will be integrated into the Institute of Languages and Cultures of Europe, America, Africa, Asia and Australia (ILCEA4) of the Université Grenoble Alpes, and attached to the Center for Hispanist Studies and Research team (CERHIS).
They will develop a research programme combining culture, cultural history and uses of digital technologies, with a contemporary Hispanic angle. In this context, they will be able to work both in the “Politics, discourse, innovation” (PDI) axis, and in the “Cultural creation and territory(ies)” (CCT) axis of the ILCEA4, and ideally at the intersection of the two. For the PDI axis, the focus is on work on professional or media communication, artificial intelligence as a social phenomenon, educational innovation in a digital context or even political discourse in the era of new media. For the CCT axis, it will be a question of exploring the dynamics of art, culture and territory in Spanish-speaking societies of the 20th–21st centuries, the aesthetic forms and space of the work, or the processes of heritage - including ongoing studies concerning heritage - as well as heritage in the digital age.
Whatever the orientation chosen, critical reflection on the ethical and epistemological issues of the digitisation of cultural practices, media or corpora must structure the research project. The successful candidate will produce significant scientific results and engage in inter- or multi-disciplinary projects integrating digital approaches. They will encourage the promotion and dissemination of their work and promote international collaborations, particularly in the Hispanic area. Finally, they will actively participate in the dynamics of the CERHIS team and more broadly of ILCEA4, by articulating digital methods and traditional questions in cultural (including artistic), communication, civilisational or literary studies. A capacity for initiative, autonomy and teamwork is expected, in the stimulating environment open to innovation and societal issues, characteristic of CERHIS.
