Senior Major Gift Officer, Development & Alumni Relations, Penn GSE
Job Description Summary
The Senior Major Gifts Officer (SMGO) identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual and institutional prospects for Penn GSE. The SMGO plans, coordinates, and implements development efforts and works closely with many faculty and staff across the school. The SMGO plays an integral role in a wide spectrum of fundraising responsibilities, including communication efforts, events, and volunteer/board management. Pre-determined travel, including nights and weekends, will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Successfully grow and manage a major gift portfolio of 100+ donor prospects to meet philanthropic goals. Focus on donor activity management, working collaboratively with faculty and development colleagues to engage donors toward major and leadership gifts.
- Direct and prepare major prospect proposals, and cultivation and solicitation materials, for both individual and organizational prospects.
- Serve as the lead liaison for Gift Planning and Corporate, Foundation Relations for the Penn GSE.
- Emphasize cultivation and solicitation strategies that focus on donor-centered philanthropy to maximize potential gifts. Coordinate the participation of faculty, administration, trustees/volunteers, and other members of the development staff in achieving unit goals.
- Report regularly to Vice Dean of Development and interact frequently with other colleagues on all fundraising activity through active implementation of the major gifts tracking / reporting / moves management system.
- Develop an understanding of the educational, research, innovation, and financial needs and goals of Dean Strunk's strategic vision: Together for Good.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL: A Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. All applicants must include a cover letter with their resume, detailing their interest in the position.

Pay Range
$91,000.00 - $120,000.00 Annual Rate. Salary offers are made based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and education as they directly relate to the requirements of the position, and in alignment with salary ranges based on external market data for the job's level. Internal organization and peer data at Penn are also considered.
