Job Description

The Academic Affairs Office, housed within the Office of the Provost, plays a critical role in advancing academic excellence and supporting the professional growth of faculty members across the university. This position reports to the Vice Provost (Academic Affairs), who supports the Provost in overseeing academic governance, faculty affairs, and institutional academic policy.

As a Senior Manager, you will take on a strategic and operational role, working closely with senior academic leadership to coordinate academic processes, implement institutional policies, and contribute to faculty-focused initiatives that shape the university’s academic future.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Processes & Governance

Coordinate and oversee processes related to faculty appointments, promotions, and policy implementation. Support the continuous improvement of academic governance frameworks and procedures.

Faculty Development & Engagement

Plan and deliver programmes that support faculty onboarding, mentoring, development, and recognition. Work with key stakeholders to promote a vibrant and supportive academic environment.

Planning & Coordination

Organise and manage academic events, briefings, and committee meetings. Ensure timely preparation of documentation, presentations, and follow-ups.

Data & Systems

Oversee the use and integration of digital tools and reporting processes to support academic planning and evidence-based decision-making. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure reliable data management.

Strategic Initiatives, Communications & Creative Design

Contribute to the development and execution of academic initiatives and projects. Prepare high-quality academic reports, briefing materials, and strategic communications for internal and external stakeholders. Develop creative and visually compelling collaterals (e.g. slides, reports, digital content, e-posters, brochures, outreach materials) to support publicity, stakeholder engagement, and institutional reporting.

Qualifications

  • A recognised degree with at least 8–10 years of relevant experience in academic administration, HR, education policy, or institutional planning
  • Strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Excellent communication abilities, with strong presentation and writing skills
  • Ability to conceptualise and produce creative communication materials for outreach, publicity, and reporting purposes
  • Professionalism and sound judgement in handling confidential or sensitive matters
  • Familiarity with academic structures, faculty affairs, or higher education governance is an advantage
