About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to oversee the University's research grants function. Leading and developing a high-performing team, the Senior Manager, Research Grants will provide strategic direction, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure the delivery of effective pre- and post-award grant management services across the research funding lifecycle.
Working closely with senior stakeholders across the University and externally, the successful candidate will develop and implement frameworks, processes, and strategies that enhance research proposal quality, improve operational efficiency, strengthen compliance, and support the University's research funding objectives.
The ideal candidate will bring demonstrated leadership and people management experience, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop teams through change and growth. They will be a highly effective communicator and relationship builder, with strong stakeholder engagement skills and a proven ability to influence outcomes in a complex environment.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Demonstrated extensive experience and expertise in the development and management of research grants within the higher education, commercial or government environment
- Sound understanding of major national and international research grant schemes, including strategies for maximising funding success.
- Established track-record in providing expert advice on grant eligibility, compliance, contractual obligations, and risk management for complex research grants and funding.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to build, mentor, and develop high-performing teams, drive change, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Qualifications
A postgraduate qualification and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/ or education and training
