Job Summary
Design systems and take the lead in installation and maintenance of campus digital signage, classroom and conference room AV systems, planetarium, and Media Center facilities. Provide support in other media and display-related areas, as assigned. Installation of new equipment and software upgrades to existing equipment as needed. Cooperate as a team member in performing any duty essential to Media Services operations.
- Provide and assist with coordinating technical support for campus media systems including or involving but not limited to satellite, IP, Streaming, the educational access channel, master control, multimedia classrooms, laboratories, and meeting/conference room facilities.
- Provide support for all TV studio productions and livestreams, including classes.
- Prepare for future technologies by researching and recommending specifications and pricing information for hardware used in production studios and media systems. Research procedures and systems that will streamline and enhance overall systems operation.
- Provide or supervise the provision of media services, including but not limited to troubleshooting campus-wide problems and monitoring signals, setting up and supporting studio productions, and arranging videoconference connections.
- Troubleshoot and perform needed repairs on advanced audio, video, and media equipment, if possible, or arrange for repair or replacement of same.
- Cross-train TV Engineer and other essential Media Services personnel in general operation of media systems, including production studios, educational access channel, master control, and multimedia and distance-learning classrooms.
- Maintain and develop current, accurate records including vendor information, wiring schemata, repair manuals, and equipment inventory.
Qualifications - Education
Bachelors Degree with the following certifications:
Society of Broadcast Engineers:- Certified Broadcast Television Engineer
Extron – AV and Control
Audinate/Dante: – Dante Certification Levels 1, 2, and 3
Qualifications - Experience
Five years’ experience in broadcast engineering including component-level bench repair.
Qualifications - Skills
Studio and camera installation, troubleshooting, repair. Video production work. Systems integration.
Work Hours
8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Must be able to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
