Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Senior Network Engineer to join the Network team in Te Tai Matihiko - Digital Solutions on a fixed-term, full-time basis.

This fixed-term position will last until 18 December 2026. We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in the design and support in a medium to large scale service provider environment supporting 20,000+ network attached devices and 24/7 service availability.

The candidate should have experience across a wide range of technologies with in-depth technical knowledge while at the same time understand the bigger picture with a strong customer-focussed work ethic.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• Proven expert knowledge and experience in design, support and troubleshooting of large-scale Cisco SDA networks, ISE policy design, data centre, internet and wireless networks and technologies.
• Even though you are a technical expert in multiple fields, you like to keep on learning and expanding your technical knowledge.
• Proven experience in technical support and troubleshooting methodologies and the use of tools and resource available.
• Experience with Agile Methodology.
• Experience in communicating technical information to different target groups.
• You are a team player and like to share knowledge with team members.
