Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
Incumbent is responsible for basic reception responsibilities for all those needing assistance upon arrival to emergency services. Provides & tracks, visitor badges and parking data. Follows patient visitor protocol. Ensures that requests for information and services are accurately responded to, in a timely and appropriate manner, sensitive to the circumstances of the patient's/guest's emotional situation and privacy needs. Provides oversight and ensures cleanliness of visitor waiting areas (including pediatric areas). Escorts or transports patients from Registration/Triage to assigned bed and prepares patient to receive health care services. Assists in the mobilization/transports of ED patient's/visitors in reaching destination through the health care system and upon discharge.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
- Skill to perform basic mathematical computations, and to use general office equipment including computers, copiers, and calculators
- Preventative Management of Assaultive Behavior (PMAB) upon hire
- Must be available to work overtime as patient care needs demand
- Minimum six months patient transportation experience in a UC Healthcare environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice of infection control techniques
- Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment, with the ability to work overtime and dictated by patient care demands
