Senior Preclinical Imaging Scientist - Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
We have an exciting research opportunity for a PET Preclinical Imaging Scientist to join our team in the School of Cancer Sciences and play a leading role in shaping the future of molecular imaging at the University of Glasgow. This Senior Preclinical Imaging Scientist position offers the chance to build and lead a cutting-edge preclinical PET imaging programme, supporting a diverse and collaborative research community across the University. You will be at the forefront of translational science, driving innovative PET imaging projects in areas such as inflammation and immunity, and working closely with expert teams at the Cancer Research UK Scotland Institute (CRUK-SI) and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde. As a hands-on expert, you will develop and implement new imaging methodologies, mentor researchers and students, and ensure the highest standards of scientific output. You will serve as the Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS), overseeing the safe and compliant use of radioactive materials within the facility. This role is a key part of the University’s strategic investment in imaging infrastructure and will provide access to state-of-the-art PET/CT and PET/MRI systems. You will help build a sustainable and collaborative PET imaging research programme, contribute to high-impact publications, and promote the University’s imaging capabilities nationally and internationally.
