Senior Project Manager - IT Infrastructure

About This Opportunity

This position will be responsible for the project management of transformative IT Infrastructure projects and initiatives, which are aligned with, and fundamental for, the successful deployment of the University Technology Master plan. This role encompasses leading project outcomes across all aspects of the project life cycle, including project initiation and planning, developing processes to monitor and evaluate the project, managing project deliverables and communication, facilitating stakeholder engagements, coordinating procurement and contract negotiations, and supporting project reporting requirements.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Initiative development, design and delivery: Collaborate with business units to plan and deliver scopes, conduct impact assessments and financial analysis, produce reports, and manage procurement activities as required.
  • Project Management: Coordinate and lead project development within ITS Infrastructure Services, maintaining plans and documents and reporting financials in line with project methodologies such as PMBOK and Prince2. In addition, you will coordinate meetings, support IT and Organisational change, and manage various program activities.
  • Communication and stakeholder engagement: Develop and implement communication plans, manage vendor relationships, and support business units in adopting change.

About You

We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager with postgraduate qualifications (or be in progress towards postgraduate qualifications) in Project Management or a related field, or have an equivalent combination of qualifications and workplace experience.

In addition, you will have:

  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing large, complex and/or cross-portfolio projects, ideally within a large and complex organisation
  • A thorough understanding of project methodology and/or frameworks, specifically PMBOK and Prince2
  • Substantial experience and a track record of delivering strategic IT or IT Infrastructure related projects covering broad domains of Network and Communications, Storage and Compute services, in similar large and complex organisations
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster strong collaborative relationships and stakeholder engagement at all levels to support the on-time and on-budget delivery of strategic programs
  • Expert written and oral communication skills including the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Experience with leading and managing small teams in a project context.
  • Knowledge and experience of the higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of enterprise network, storage and compute solutions.
