Remuneration: $172,761 to $193,229 pa (HEW10) (inclusive of $145,985 to $163,281 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
Location: Kelvin Grove (hybrid option available)

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join Facilities Management, Administrative Division.
The Senior Project Manager will act as a senior project management practitioner and supervisory resource within the Capital Works team. In this role, the Senior Project Manager will personally manage a significant program of work consisting of a number of high value complex projects, which may include research labs and new buildings, as well as a program of technical minor works. In addition to managing projects, the Senior Project Manager will engage, supervise and manage all additional fixed term and consultant project management and administration resources to ensure the objectives of their required program is achieved.

The Facilities Management Department within the Administrative Division is responsible for managing the process of design, construction, maintenance and operation of the physical facilities, and the provision of a range of support services across the University's two main campuses at Gardens Point, Kelvin Grove and a range of smaller offsite facilities.
The University undertakes a significant capital works program of new buildings and reinvestment typically in the order of $50-$100 million per annum. The University is planning to maintain this level of investment over the coming years in order to deliver the objectives in QUTs Estate Masterplan and align with the University’s objectives to create excellent learning environments and research facilities.
What you need to succeed
- Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of postgraduate qualifications in a building industry discipline or related area, with extensive relevant experience in an industry capacity.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with complex project management issues and consistently achieve performance targets of scope, time and cost with a high quality outcome.
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of major complex projects such as technical labs and research facilities in a university or other institutional environment.
- Proven effective leadership and management skills to effectively manage multi-disciplinary teams involved in the delivery of major complex building projects or programs of work.
- Demonstrated ability to manage procurement and correctly and effectively interpret and apply legislation and policy in a public institutional probity environment.
- Demonstrated experience in communicating and negotiating effectively, both orally and in written form, with a wide range of clients including senior managers, executive groups, building contractors and design consultants.
- Demonstrated ability to implement appropriate health and safety practices and equity principles.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and Indigenous Australian engagement.
