About the position
Based in the School of Psychology and Public Health at La Trobe University, this role leads the operational delivery of an ARC-funded project addressing reproductive coercion and abuse in migrant and refugee communities. The appointee will manage the end-to-end delivery of the Reproductive Violence in Migrant and Refugee Communities project, overseeing timelines, milestones, governance, budgets, ethics processes, documentation and data management, while coordinating investigators, partner organisations and advisory groups.
The role also has a strong stakeholder and community coordination focus, including supporting participant recruitment, building relationships with migrant and refugee communities, and planning and delivering data collection and co-design activities with bilingual educators, researchers and participants. The position reports to Dr Nicola Sheeran and works closely with an interdisciplinary research team, including the Multicultural Centre for Women’s Health.
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this position, you will have
- Degree with subsequent relevant research experience (i.e., a Bachelor of Psychology Honours or honours or masters degree in a related field e.g., social science, health related discipline, medical, nursing, science), or extensive experience, leading to either the development of specialist expertise in gender based violence or to the development of broad knowledge in conducting and managing a program of research or large scale research project, or an equivalent alternate combination of relevant knowledge, training and/or experience.
- Demonstrated depth or breadth of expertise in research project management developed through extensive relevant experience and application.
- Demonstrated ability to gain a conceptual understanding of relevant policies, procedures or systems and interpretation in the application of policy and/or precedent.
- Ability to innovate and take responsibility for outcomes.
- Demonstrated capacity to organise work effectively and efficiently and deliver outputs in a timely manner.
