The Senior Project Officer will play a key role in supporting the delivery of UNSW’s strategy contributing to the development of simple, effective and trust-based systems, aligning and streamlining internal processes to allow researchers to focus on high-impact work.
This project role is hands-on rather than technical delivery. You’ll be responsible for planning, communications and documentation across a portfolio of concurrent initiatives (typically 10–20), ensuring stakeholders remain informed, aligned and on track. The role will proactively identify risks, overlaps and opportunities for greater efficiency across projects within a large, complex organisational environment.
You will work closely with a broad range of stakeholders to support project governance, maintain clear and consistent communications, and bring structure to complex and evolving initiatives. This includes preparing high-quality reports, briefings and presentations, and ensuring project documentation is accurate and up to date.
The role requires a confident, proactive approach, with the ability to ask questions and challenge where appropriate and bring clarity to ambiguity. You will be naturally curious and analytical, able to critically assess information and connect insights across multiple streams of work.
