Why your role matters
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Officer, Student Success, to join the Student Learning team within the Education Pillar under the Pro Vice-Chancellor Education. This vital role involves providing comprehensive project management support to the Academic Skills, English Language teams and Enabling program initiatives.
The role also involves promoting initiatives, communications, ensuring evaluation mechanisms and frameworks, report writing, fostering key internal and external relationships, and ensuring the smooth coordination of activities.
Specific accountabilities for this role include:
- Proactively coordinate English Language and Academic Skills initiatives and Enabling Pre-university programs to achieve operational and strategic goals, evaluation and reporting on the effectiveness of initiatives. Key foci for 2025 is the redesign an promotion of the University Preparation Program and development of an English Language Framework.
- Monitor progress and track to milestones and deliverables in alignment with time, cost and quality metrics, identification of risks and implementation of mitigating solutions where applicable.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of plans to improve the quality, efficacy and scalability of Academic Skills and English Language support tools, resources and opportunities.
- In collaboration with team members and the Head, Student Learning, develop promotional plans for initiatives
About You:
- Relevant tertiary qualification with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent competence gained through any combination of education, training and experience.
- Proven experience in project administration and coordination with an understanding of the project life cycle and development of project plans and objectives including managing expenditure, logistics, promotions, communications, reporting and meeting documentation.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including proven ability to develop presentations and reports and the ability to research and analyse material and summarise key issues.
- Demonstrated ability to support change within a complex organisational environment, experience within an educational setting is desirable.
- Strong service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated success building and maintain positive professional relationships with staff at all levels, both internally and externally, as well as student partners.
- Advanced organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail with proven ability to work to strict deadlines and manage competing demands.
- Ability to create communication plans and promotional materials
